“Cold inside and waited a long time for food”
Reviewed February 11, 2014

The design of this new building is quite poor for diners, as there is no internal door, so when the door opens, you get a cold blast of air and it makes it a very uncomfortable dining experience. We had to ask in the end to be moved as we were freezing!!

The waitress we had was not very good at all, i don't think she had any training what so ever. We had to wait an hour for our food to come, which is not acceptable, and the waitress did not inform us why it was taking so long.

When the food came, it was very nice, but because of the cold and the wait, it wasn't a pleasant experience in the end.

We may try again another day, when its warm!! But found the other Lonestar branches to be better and more organised.

“Great experiences”
Reviewed January 25, 2014

Lonestar is always a great restaurant. Sometimes the wait is alittle long, but 9 times out of 10 the food makes up for it!

“Terrible first experience ”
Reviewed November 30, 2013 via mobile

Went to the new Lonestar on Mancgester Street last night as I had family over from the UK. Was told we would have to wait an hour at most for a table which was no problem. 1hr and a half later we got seated after asking various times was our table ready. We asked for a gluten free menu and the waitress told us 'they had gone walkies' and she knew two meals that were def on it. Not a lot of choice. My mum got salmon which came out raw and was stone cold inside. By the time her meal came back out at 10.30pm we had all finished eating. Was a very bad experience. One waiter was extremely helpful and got us some free drinks (maybe was in charge-not sure) but I can't say anything good about the rest of the staff. I definitely won't be back.

“Best Resturant got better”
Reviewed October 3, 2013

The original Lone star at 26 Manchester street in Christchurch recently reopened after the earthquakes and is now better than ever. I have been there 5 times since it opened again and each time i have been extremely impressed by the service. The waiters and waitresses were very nice and helpful, the bar staff never let me stay there for too long with an empty glass, politely pushing me to get another but not being too demanding or pushy that i do. The food was served after a very reasonable time and even on a busy night the meals never took too long, not to mention that the food was some of the best tasting food i have ever had at any restaurant. I have been to the other 2 Lone Star's in Christchurch and neither of them even came close to the amount of flavor that burst forth from the plate.

“A FAVOURITE”
Reviewed July 15, 2013

Lonestar Upper Riccarton would have to be one of my all time favourite places to go for a family dinner. Food is delicious and meals a large. Children get pencils and paper to keep them entertained while waiting. The only downside is that this place is very popular and there can be long waits for tables on busy nights which is not always good when you have young children who are hungry. So I would suggest you go early or ring and see what the wait is like as they do not take bookings. Reasonably priced too.
