Having recently visited several wineries in the Hunter Valley, NSW, we were delighted with the vineyard, the winery, the cellar door and most of all the great eating and drinking experience we had in the courtyard at Highfield. We chose the platter to share for two and it was truely a culinary delight, beautifully presented, generous and most of all delicious. The wines we chose made us wish we lived in NZ and therefore had regular access to them.

The setting is lovely, so it is universally recommended. The food was average. The wine tasting experience was pretty average too.

Dined here twice over 4 days in Marlborough - the first time enjoyed the superb and generous sharer platter in the afternoon sunshine and then met up with family for a big lunch a couple of days later. On both occasions the food was excellent and the service superb. They also have the very reasonable policy of only charging cellar door prices for bottles of wine with a meal. The terrace must surely have the best views ni Marlborough and the wines are superb - especially the Pinot Noirs ... splash out on one of the last few bottles of Millstream Pinot Noir if you're there in the next couple of months; you won't regret it.

After a hard day tasting wine by bike, we stopped off here for a late lunch on 23rd Dec. Sat outside in the sun, great views. Bread and dips was fab, different from normal. Trio of.salmon was good... tho not enough contrast between the three setvings. The veg pie (quiche) was fantastic, so were the rabbit croquettes.

We also tasted their wine.... in all honesty not the best compared to the neighbouring vineyards, but ok. St least able to try before we picked out wine to go with lunch. Didn't buy any bottles.

Worth the visit for the excellent food, relaxing atmosphere, great service and views.

Fantastic views and service excellent. Disappointing choice options for vegetarian dining.
