We stayed at Phoenix for one night during our trip. Room was very clean and spacious. Motel has a nice quiet location so there is no traffic noise issues during the night, short walk to a supermarket was a bonus. Bed was a bit wobbly but we are just very picky about the beds.

This was our third stay at the Phoenix. We like to stay where we know we'll get a friendly greeting, a very comfortable accommodation, and be in a good location. The Phoenix provides all of these - AND a nice little wallowing-pool - the owners are extremely friendly and when we found ourselves unexpectedly needing an extra night there, they had no problem at all in accommodating us. Blenheim is a busy little town, in the middle of the Marlborough wine country, with a very pleasant Sunday market at the A&P ground that's really a meeting-point for locals, with about 30 stalls selling local produce. Friendly and informal. There's also an excellent Aviation Museum, with a Classic Car collection beside it - well worth a visit for petrol-heads! It's an easy 20-minute drive from Picton and the Inter-Islander ferry, so a good place to start a South Island tour, or rest overnight before taking the ferry back north the next morning.

Room Tip: They're all good - rooms near the road are single-storey but nearer the main road, rooms at the...

A great value clean and comfortable Motor Inn. The staff were really nice & helpful. There were 4 of us so we stayed in a 2 bedroom unit. Each spacious bedroom has a king bed & a single bed & there was another bed in the lounge, so plenty of beds for everyone! The beds were super comfortable, with nice clean comfortable white linen & plenty of warm blankets. The beds even had electric blankets (I'm not sure if all 7 beds had an electric blanket, but there were at least 2), which made sleeping even more comfortable. The bathroom & en suite both looked very new, modern & extremely clean. The shower was perfect, adjustable water pressure, built in shelves etc. There was even a heater in the en suite, perfect for the cold weather! We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay & would definitely return when we're next in the area. I really did not want to leave this affordable Motor Inn!!

We stayed one night only, in a beautiful unit, quiet, spacious, and really enjoyed the friendly welcome to Blenheim. Definetely the smartest Motel unit we stayed in during our 8 day South Island trip. Highly recommended

This motel exceeded all expectations for our family holiday. The rooms were comfortable, clean and very comfortable. The fact that they have a family unit able to sleep a good amount of children makes it an ideal place to stay. Close to Picton and the sounds an ideal base. Highly recommend this especially if you have a young family.
