Description: Marlborough has a special place in the hearts of the Giesen brothers. To celebrate this, and the wines they create, in late 2011, 30 years after their arrival in New Zealand, they opened a Cellar Door in the heart of the region's wineries. Situated in the midst of vineyards on Marlborough's golden mile this characterful building captures the Giesen Brothers spirit of hospitality, giving visitors a place to experience a taste of Giesen, and learn about their winemaking. Also as a special treat, visitors can taste some back vintages or trial wines thanks to the Enomatic wine dispensing system. In addition Guests can kick back and relax with a glass of Giesens wine and a platter of regional treats in the charming courtyard.

I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!! The service is always impeccable and pristine. They always greet you with a smile. Their platters are delish and lush. The Pomme de gris is one to try and their Riesling is perfect and have not found anything that comes close. Next time I come to Blenheim I will definately call in.

We really enjoyed the variety of tasty items on the Vintage platter that other reviewers have recommended. The wine was lovely too.

Giesens staff greeted guests in a friendly manner, with huge smiles!! They listened to what is requested and we found nothing was too much trouble for them to please! We decided to have a platter for lunch and when we asked if there was any salmon it was suggested for a little extra they could add some to the vintage platter.
The food was set out attractively and the waitress identified the various condiments and flavours of cold meats, and cheeses. Two kinds of bread were served separately. All food was produced in New Zealand, much of it locally.
The wine was reasonably priced.
Meals could be served indoors or in a sheltered court yard and umbrellas were put up if needed for shade. A very pleasant dining experience.

We have visited a few times and a convertees to The Brothers' wines, and we had family visiting from the UK so thought a lunch platter and drop to drink at Giesen would be perfect - and it was. The platter 'Kenepuru' was delicious regional seafoods and the other, meats and cheeses with breads, also featuring local fare. All washing down with great service and top wine.

Best value for platters. We had a vintage platter for 2, with mussels, salmon spread, pate, cured ham and meat, smoked fish, 2 different types of cheeses and lots of crisps and bread. All for $25! Can do wine tasting while you wait for platter. We left very satisfied for afternoon tea!
