Enjoyed our 3 nights at Hotel D'urville. Dined in the restaurant twice and really recommend the whitebait fritters - stuffed with whitebait! Continental breakfast was not your average continental breakfast, good variety of food. Stayed in the Venus room, lovely views across to the hills surrounding Blenheim. Staff always helpful and friendly.

Room Tip: We recommend the Venus Room.

This old converted bank was a fantastic place to explore Blenheim and te surrounding area. Room was spacious and comfortable. Staff friendly and a good continental breakfast to boot. We tried to get into the restaurant one night but is was fully booked so make sure you make reservation.

Cool hotel well located in cbd Blenheim. The fitout of this old building is quirky - all the rooms are themed differently. Comfortable beds, room was small totally adequate. We ate in the restaurant and loved the wine selection and Great Food. breakfast was included - continential and yum -really good museli. I would stay again and I would eat here too.

There are a few parking places each side and we managed to find one each time. No lift, and long stairs to the hotel section of the building (but staff offered to carry our bags). Wifi free but only just worked in our room at the far end of the main corridor as signal was very weak. The room was large and we had a good view of city streets from the windows. We had dinner in the restaurant one night - which was very good. Breakfasts were excellent, and the staff were also all very good and helpful. Provided you don't mind slightly awkward access to rooms, this was a good hotel.

Stayed 2 nights here. Rooms nice blend of old and new, eccellent dinner. Very good service in the evening, rather lame at breakfast. Breakfast was a big dissapointment taking into concideration the rest of the services offered. Little fruit, low standard industrial jams (the hotel sells eccelent jams, why not offer them for breakfast?). Wifi does not work in room 3!

The hotel is part of an old bank, and the interior has been kept so it's really neat. We stayed in the very first room next to reception. It wasn't noisy at night, but in the morning we did hear people walking and their conversations like they were in the room next door. The bed was quite comfortable, there was a nice TV up in the bedroom, and the blinds were sun-darkening, so we were able to sleep in, which was great. The shower was not so great. It did the job, but wasn't as nice as I expected. Service was outstanding. We ate dinner and breakfast in the restaurant attached. Waitstaff was impressive, and the food was simply outstanding.

We booked a Saturday night stay at this hotel with great expectations but left feeling a bit disappointed.

The hotel is centrally located and offers some unique decor having been converted from an old bank building. We weren't disappointed with the hotel's decor and location and we were initially impressed with our room. However, the reality of an older converted building quickly became apparent. Our room's wooden floors were incredibly noisy, the four post bed creaked and the mattress was hard and uncomfortable. The noisy floor could easily be resolved by some strategically placed carpet rugs. The en-suite was tiny and very poorly lit. Shaving the following morning felt like being shut in a wardrobe (with about as much light!). Our room (9) was situated directly over the dining room/kitchen area and it was annoying to be awoken early Sunday morning as the staff prepared for breakfast service.

The restaurant lived up to its reputation, and its numerous dining awards, and the service was more than adequate.

We booked this room through an online hotel booking website and we do wonder whether we might have been allocated the worst room in the hotel because of the slightly discounted price we paid. Still we live and learn! On a value for money basis we would feel we could have done better in one of Blenheim's many quality motels.

Room Tip: Make sure your room is not located over the dining room kitchen area.
