A quaint but delightful place. There are about 6 different shop outlets and a cafe. We didnt go to the cafe on the day, but it was very well patronised while we were there.
The gourmet shop had lots of delicious sauces and spreads, mustards, etc. Round to the wine cellar door for a taste. Then onto the fudge shop for some delicious and some unusual flavours.

Bunch of artisan shops. Not cheap but a nice place to shop for presents or for something a bit different. There is a café, which has a great playground (fenced-off) next to a duck pond. Nice place to chill out and have a meal on a sunny day. Actually, we were there on a windy day. The outside verandah was closed off using thick transparent plastic curtains, so we were able to have our meal sheltered from the wind while keeping an eye on our kids on the playground.

Met friends from Nelson here for brunch. Food in the cabinet look yummy but we ordered breakfast. Coffees great. Breakfast a bit slow to come out (not busy). The plum sauce that was supposed to come with the big breakfast never arrived and we had to ask for it. Also had ordered a side of yoghurt-also didn't arrive until requested. The waitress was very sour-didn't look like she wanted to be there, even to the point of appearing rude. Smiles lacking everywhere.
Food was average-French toast must have been briefly dipped in egg as it was dry and tasteless. Lack of maple syrup as well. Toast from supermarket was not expected. Overall experience was mediocre-but at least there is somewhere to have breakfast on Rapuara Road.

The travel brochure said it was a must do but after going there it's a big must don't. So over rated and certainly nothing of interest....lucky if you can get the ice cream shop lady to smile. Don't bother.
