“The best place in Blenheim”
Reviewed April 26, 2014

We were very surprised by the quality and the food and the service and the attention to detail in the presentation of the dishes. We were so happy after the first dinner that we repeated again the following night. Try the seafood hotpot (extremely good value for a restaurant of this standard -20 NZ dollars) or the whole fish (my husband had a ball eating a whole blue cod). Everything extremely fresh. The service could not be more attentive and quick. 10 out of 10 for me.

“Good service and good food”
Reviewed April 24, 2014

Start of by saying the service was excellent.

The food was also good, I especially liked the whitebait. The main criticism is that the chef seems to be obsessed by putting spiced peanuts into every dish - why??

The decor and atmosphere was good, and whilst not cheap it was not stupidly priced.

Definitely worth going to.

“Awesome food”
Reviewed April 23, 2014

If you want plain and boring - this is not the place for you. We had white bait and scallops for entrée, very tasty. For main, the steak was cooked perfectly and fish of the day was cooked to perfection. This food is flavour, flavour, flavour!! The pear and rocket salad was superb with the seasoning just perfect. Presentation was also very good. Service was great. One of the best meals we had in New Zealand.

“Superb seafood-Surprising value”
Reviewed April 17, 2014

We had bluff oysters, thai inspired greens salad, scallops, salmon with soy-kimchee salad, and the Marlborough Hot Pot (shellfish, salmon, and cod in saffron broth) and EVERYTHING was cooked perfectly. Delicious from start to finish. We were shocked that the bill was less than 100 dollars. Would have gladly paid another $50 for the quality and amount of food we ate. The only knock w have against this place is that liquor based drinks were rather pricey. Expect to pay 17-20 per cocktail. They did have reasonably priced wine offerings from many top local producers as well.

“Avoid until they get things sorted out”
Reviewed April 14, 2014

We have been dining at this restaurant for 10 years and although we read that it had recently
changed hands we decided to go last night. What a mistake it was awful. There were only six
other people in there but it took half an hour to produce a portion of Garlic Bread and some scallops, Both of which were not worth the wait. The main course was no better, I think they
went to McDonalds to get the portion of Fries. Whoever is in the kitchen, should not be, and I would say avoid this restaurant until they get a Chef and somebody recommends it to you. What
annoys us, Is that you don't only waste your money but you also waste your time and to top it all come away hungry
