Attended with a group of 4 Adults, upon being seated one of us ordered a glass of wine ..never arrived! it got reordered when our meal orders were taken. We found the menu a little limited , nothing really jumped out at us. The Seafood Fettuccine; consisted of 2 scallops 2 prawns 1 empty clam shell and a couple of very small pieces of fish and the sauce was quite bland, way too much parmesan and it had a lot of nicely cooked pasta...for $32.00 we expected a lot more it really wasnt worth the money..
The Thicken thighs were nicely cooked, however a little lacking in flavouring.
I saw the beef fillet and it looked great!!
We didnt have dessert.
On a positive note the restuarant has a great atmosphere and veiws over & of the Opawa River and the staff are pleasant.
The restaurant was very busy so maybe we just struck them on a off night?

We went to this restaurant on Valentines Day so it was pretty busy. They offer a good selection of food including dairy and gluten free options which was a major reason for our visit. We had main courses only and although these took a while to arrive they were well presented and very tasty - we ate mussels and beef fillet respectively. They really just need to improve the little things like providing a plate for the mussel shells and remembering to bring the coffee that you order! One tip - the long black coffee was very strong and we needed all the extra hot water that we ordered with it! Not strong on personal service but all the staff were friendly enough. Reasonable value for money and a nice setting overlooking a river.

Visited with overseas friends for a special dinner which was a major disapointment. The service is very confusing - we had 6 waitresses at various points of the dinner. Food was very average - fillet of beef ordered medium rare only to arrive well done, then replaced and came back as very rare. Third time it was cooked perfectly but so covered in sauce it was not enjoyable. A free dessert was offered but then they tried to charge us at counter. Will not be back.

Raupo Cafe is consistently good. I have dined there on many different occasions; with family, friends, business colleagues, social groups, and by myself. I've enjoyed the food and service every time.

The Menu was quite extensive, leaning towards Italian flavours. My dish was Seafood Fettuccini containing a variety of Marlborough seafood specialties and was absolutely delightful.

Wine list was very extensive with many local wines available by the glass at a very reasonable price.

View over the River made the evening.

A place for fine dining.
