With the added bonus of being collected from the airport, we had a fantasic stay. Prefer ir to a hotel any day. We'll be back!

We stayed for just one night at the City B&B in September. As everyone who has stayed here knows, it is really Calvin's place and he fully enjoys the attention he gets from International travellers. Calvin did a great job of showing us around, espcially where the empty food plate was and the cupboard containing the cat kibble! He was the most gracious host and allowing us to spend lots of time chatting, enjoying nibbles and a glass of wine with his human servant.
Wish we'd had time to stay longer - this is a great home from home. warm, clean & well placed for the City Centre. Lots of lovely restraunts at the bottom of the hill, offering good food choices with a wide range of prices.
Oh and Dean was Fab-u-lous as well!

We stayed at the Wellington City Bed and Breakfast for 5 nights from 10 October 2011 taking advantage of the 5 night special as well as a free bottle of wine via a Tripadvisor deal. Both Dean and Jeff are very generous hosts. They provided good travel and dining tips and were also very good company. Dean picked us up at the airport and gave us a scenic tour of Wellington on the way to the B&B. After we had unpacked, Dean drove us down town to get some cash out of an ATM and then dropped us at Lambton Quay at the start of the Wellington cable car ride. So within an hour of flying into Wellington, we were at the lookout enjoying views over the city followed by a walk down the mountain through the Botanic Gardens. It was a great way to start our NZ holiday. There is plenty to do in and around Wellington for 5 days. We walked around enjoying all of the city sights for 3 days and then hired an Apex rental car for day trips up Mt Victoria, around Wellington’s various bays and also to the Kapiti Coast. Our hosts ensured that a gluten free breakfast was provided for my wife and also provided under cover parking for our hire car. The standard of the accommodation and breakfast was excellent so I can thoroughly recommend that you stay at the Wellington City B&B. Using advice from our hosts, we also found plenty of good cafes and restaurants offering gluten free dishes within 10 minutes walking distance from our accommodation. In particular, we dined a few times at the Hazel Restaurant which serves great quality food at very reasonable prices.

Room Tip: There was just the one room but other Cottage and Townhouse options are available form Wellington Ci...

We received a very warm reception from Dean right from the beginning, who very kindly picked us up and dropped us off at the airport even though he didn't have to. The cottage was located in the heart of the city at the Cuba Quarter, which is excellent location for a tourist, and makes for easy exploring of Wellington city.

The cottage was also beautifully done up with everything you'll need for a comfortable stay - from a fully furnished kitchen (including a dishwasher), a washing machine/dryer, clean bathrooms and basic toiletries, television, free wi-fi and a cushy bed! All in all, we had a very wonderful stay!

A great B & B - Jeff and Dean friendly and welcoming, and their house tastefully decorated and very comfortable. Beautiful rug! Far enough from the city centre to be quiet, but nonetheless in easy walking distance (the hill is an excellent cardiovascular boost) of restaurants etc. Just great all round, highly recommended, and I'll definitely be returning.

Thank you Dean for a wonderful experience. Dean came to pick me up from the airport, gave me lots of good advice and at the end even drove me to my next hotel. When I found out i forgot something in the room, he drove again to deliver it to me. Great room, comfortable and cozy, great breakfast, really wonderful place. Hope to enjoy again.
