Food awesome, a touch of haute cuisine. Not cheap but definately worth it.Atmosphere is quiet casual but very cosy, Chairs could be a little more comfy. Would return anytime

“Avoid”

Massively overpriced. $194 a 3 course meal for 2 people + non-alcoholic drinks is robbery, especially given the service, ambience, food quantity and quality. Worse than that, we went back when the menu changed to tapas and it was similarily priced...
1/ Bookings are not allowed. You are directed to the bar where you are always made to wait regardless of time of day or however busy the place is. If I see an empty table why can't I have it? (Remember - no bookings, so it must be available)
2/ The place is DARK. I'm 30 and struggle to read the menu. The elderly will struggle with this moreso.
3/ Proportions are TINY. I once complained about the size of my main and it was taken away and came back the same size. Starters aren't worth having. This problem is even worse now it's a tapas menu. If everone gets 3 or 4 dishes that should be enough for a feed - but you will need 7 or so for a mediocre appetite not counting starter and dessert. (I'm 6' and weigh 170 lbs).
4/ Service is bad. Yuppie city kid types for the young fusion hip crowd. They're too hip to care, man.
5/ Food just isn't that good. Wait, that's unfair. It's fairly good, but it's more expensive than Logan Brown, half as good and only 100 yards away. So why not go there? Cafe Polo, Larder, White House, Boulcott Bistro - they're all pretentious but I've been to them all and they're blummin' good so represent some sort of value.

Lonely Planet says it's the best dining in the capital. Believe me it's not, and if you base your Wellington dining on this then you'll feel ripped off.

Wow! Wasn't expecting the bar/restaurant to look so amazing after that entrance! Truly beautiful. Nice chilled out atmosphere. Looks like a great place to catch up with friends. Didn't try the food as we had reservations elsewhere but it was really busy with business types finished for the weekend. Drinks menu was fabulous! Great service too.

“Great Service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 13, 2013 via mobile

The service was impecable throughout the night. Really friendly and quick to refill glasses or orders. The food was really yummy and every mouthful was enjoyed. The only downside was the prices, these seemed pretty steep for the amount. Overall the experience was lovely.
