I have nothing but praise for Booklovers Wellington. Beautiful rooms, lovely staff , centrally located... nothing was too much trouble and the breakfast each morning was brilliant. I can't recommend Booklovers emphatically enough! STAY HERE - and stay for as long as you can!

With the airport bus stopping right outside the door of this b and b convenience becomes the first plus but after that the congenial atmosphere, the profusion of books in every space, the fabulous communal breakfast cooked individually for each guest by Sonia, and the efforts made to help each guest makes this b and b run by Jane Tolerton, published author, really special. Its position just below Mount Victoria means there are delightful walks with amazing views immediately accessible but it is also close enough to walk into Wellington centre or to take a bus from outside the door if that is what you prefer. There is great attention to the comfort of guests but with a very relaxed approach. This was my first accomodation on arriving in New Zealand for the first time and could not have been a better starting place - so good that I returned for my last night even though it was to be very short with a 4am departure for the airport.

Room Tip: Not many rooms so book ahead.

Booklovers is a quiet, cute B&B up on the hill. The rooms are large and comfortable, and the owners are friendly and helpful.

Breakfast was delicious, full of fresh fruit and produce. Our upstairs room had great views of the harbour. Great for couples!

We stayed at the booklovers last year and have since wanted to rate it, as our stay was especially nice and relaxing. We had originally only booked for one night, as we travelled in a camper van and did not like the campsites in Wellington and therefore wanted to move on as quick as possible. Once we had arrived weimmediately extended to three nights and loved every minute of it. The rooms were lovely, I was pregnant and very picky at the time and I had nothing to complain about ;o)
The host is absolutely lovely, her helpfulness second to none, tips and directions very useful and accurate - she really made us feel at home. The breakfast was outstanding, the location is perfect. We will definitely go back and stay longer when we go back to NZ.

We stayed at the Booklovers B&B for two nights. It is the perfect spot to explore Wellington.

Jane is a very nice host. She know's where to go and what to do. The rooms are spacious and the atmosphere is very nice. You find books everywhere, and there even is a free book section where you can pick a book (and leave one). The en suite bathroom is clean and functional. Not a very big luxurious one, but a good shower, toilet and sink. Just what you need.

Breakfast is good, continental and cooked. You have wifi or a desktop computer. All for free.

It is very near Mount Victoria and a Lord of the Rings site. Quite fun to visit when you are staying here...

I would recommend this B&B to everybody that wants to explore Wellington.

The service was nothing short of spectacular. Jane, our host, is informative, lovely company, intelligent and helpful. Her home has books from floor to ceiling. The decor was lovingly appointed without being stuffy. She was most accomodating about breakfast preferences and as vegetarians this was appreciated. Booklover's is located next to a forest, on a bus line and 15 minutes (steep) walk from the harbor. There are many restaurants within 15 minutes walk as well as museums, shops and conveniences.
