Walked round Oriental Bay to find a cafe and discovered Beach Babylon, Friday night was very busy we had to wait for about half and hour but went for a walk round the bay, meal was excellent, Oriental Bay certainly has improved over the years

“So close to the cdb and yet so apart”
Reviewed June 5, 2013

Oriental Bay is another jewel in Wellington's crown. Minutes from the cbd yet a sandy beach with a lovely atmosphere and a totally varied population visible. Bathers, joggers, walkers, businessmen/woman, hire a trike.. it's a flow on from the Francis Kitts park. The heritage buildings on the hills around add to make it a litle patch of paradise.

“Cycle Paths, Play Grounds and Beach”
Reviewed June 5, 2013

A wide cycle path along the waterfront is ideal for walking or cycling. Having two playgrounds and a beach near Te Papa end is an added bonus. Scenic way to connect airport entry to the city centre

“Beautiful”
Reviewed May 5, 2013

A lovely place to sit and relax, go for a swim, a gentle walk on the sand... There are also plenty of ice cream parlours nearby to keep you topped up with energy!
