Wished I could try all the cafes and restaurants. You won't be disappointed. Don't stop at the 1st place, walk around, including side streets. You could discover some gems.

Whether you are looking for a place to eat, something to drink, or thing to buy, you have plenty of options to choose from. Street had a great vibe and although it can get a bit crowded at times, its a good way to do some sight seeing, people watching, or shopping or dinning. Great central location and fortunately not far from many hotels. Highly recommended if you are visiting Wellington!

The top end of Cuba Street is what used to be called Bohemian. A miscellany of bars, cafes, full service restaurants, takeaways, ethnic food outlets. Music shops, second hand goods stores and the sort of character that cannot be created from scratch but builds over many years as the old is joined by the new and the new is joined by the newer and becomes part of the older in the process.
City planners and earthquake prone building issues are changing the low key multiracial eclectic presentation but they have some way to go before they win.

Yet to have a bad cup of coffee there. Or a bad or skimpy meal. Try the Parrillada platter at El Matador for a meat treat or browse through old vinyl albums at the record shop. Or just sit at a footpath table with an ale or a pot of herbal tea and watch the people.

Well worth more than a passing visit

Lots of Cafes and shops. Busy area but it is in central Wellington and you can't miss it. I like the buzz of being there.

It was so bustling, busy and alive. In a small space it gives you the true big city experience. People are colourful, vibrant and friendly. The best food in the world, lots of exotic restaurants at very cheap prices and all pride themselves on their authenticity. The night life is amazing, from the local friendly pub to wild nightclubs.
The best thing I like about this is that it suits all ages, well maybe not children.
