This is too some a way to cross the road safely but to many locals this is a place to take time out to relax and enjoy not only the views that wellington has to offer but also to watch the people as they go about their business, make the time to explore this bridge and what it has to offer.

To me, this is 'just a bridge'. A way to get from Civic Square to the lovely wharf area where you can start your walk around the harbour. You can probably appreciate the bridge more for photos from the road beneath. It's wood and sort of ethnic-orientated.. Takes about 30 seconds to walk across.

More than just a way to dodge traffic, great for people watching and an excellent photo stop. An excellent link between the iconic Civic Square and boat-shed lagoon. The locals are regulars, visitors would be silly to miss it.

The bridge connects the city to the sea. So convenient and lots to do when you get to the 'sea'. Particularly pleasant in summer when you're in the sunshine.

At the International Sevens tournament in Wellington this weekend. At the end of the parade all the teams gather in the Town square at the city side base of this fantastic walkway. After the official bit was over, many thousands of people dispersed over the bridge and out onto the most excellent waterfront that is an incredible part of Wellington. This is truly an excellent interconnection between the business environment and the social relaxation that is available to all.
