Mercure Wellington Abel Tasman Hotel

The hotel is situated in the CBD close to a lot of shops anf food outlets - the lobby is very
impressive however this is an older hotel. The rooms were clean and neat.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
The underground parking I found difficult to get in and out and on the way out there is a bump which scrapes underneath ones car I was not impressed about that.
Overall for the price it was okay - Would I stay there again I dont think so

Accommodation was okay given that this is an older hotel. Meals were excellent. I had a great steak, cooked to perfection, on Saturday night.
The down side was the parking. It is underground and very difficult to get in and, particularly, out of.
Also we had been quoted $18 for parking per night but were charged $20 per night.
Be aware also that there is a surcharge when paying by credit card.
Friendly staff.
Room very noisy from traffic and night club in Willis Street

My daughter and I stayed for 2 nights. The hotel is in the cbd close to shops and food outlets.just a short walk from the airport flyer bus.
Hotel staff were friendly and accommodating . From the minute we checked in we were greeted with smiles by reception, housekeeping and the restaurant staff.
We requested 2 beds on booking but when we got to the room there was only one...this was quickly fixed. Rooms are basic for a 3 star , clean and warm, with wifi in the room. Extra blankets and pillows in the room which was appreciated during the polar blast the hit while we were there.
Breakfast was included which was a full cooked from a selected menu.the meal was well presented and tasty.
Would stay there again

Private enough, quite enough. Good room sizes for two people. Got sick of hanving my stays at other hotels interrupted by overly helpful staff, so it was a nice change being left alone. Cafe/restaurant food was ok, coffee not great though.

We stay in Wellington on the average of 4 - 5 times a year and have stayed at many hotels and for staff, location and helpfulness, cleanliness and best of all cost effective, we would certainly stay with Abel Tasman Hotel again. Thanks guys much appreciated.

Room Tip: I did request one prior to our arrival, and did ask on arrival and they were only happy to put us in...

My wife and I plus a friend stayed in a triple room with single beds. the room was clean and tidy with a great shower and bathroom. we chose this hotel based on price & location and from favourable comments from previous guests. we could not have asked for anything better. we would stay here again and would recommend to our friends.
