Owner description: Take a walk - Every day at 10.00am, Walk Wellington gives you an excellent introduction into this exuberant, walkable city and its people. Our guides have a deep knowledge and love of Wellington and enjoy helping to make your visit an absolutely positively fantastic experience. Walks take two to two and a half hours. We walk every day except Christmas Day and Good Friday, rain or shine, so it's best to dress to suit the weather. During the summer (December through March) take advantage of Wellington's long days with an evening walk on Monday, Wednesday or Friday at 5.00pm. Walk Wellington tours leave from the i-SITE Visitor Centre 111 Wakefield St at Cuba St, adjacent to Civic Square. Look for the guide in the bright, green vest! Our stand is just inside the doors on the left.

Today we started our 4 days in Wellington with a guided walking tour. This was an excellent way to get first impressions of Wellington and in depth information about the key sites in downtown, the Waterfront and the parliamentary district. The 2 1/2h with Bob were fun, with many interesting stories, historic as we as personal.

Gavin was our guide. He was very informative and later on when we were walking through the places he showed us, the kids remembered his explanations, which was the exact reason to do this tour.

Our guide George knew a lot about Wellington - not only the stuff you can read in a book, but all those things that tell about the atmosphere of the city and explain why things look like they do. We walked at a comfortable pace with carefully planned stops. George shared many great stories and we enjoyed every minute. An excellent starting point for your stay in Wellington.

Our guide for the walking tour was Margaret. She kept a great pace and shared her knowledge of Wellington with some really great stories. A brief walking tour like this is a great way to get to know Wellington and being able to see things most would just simply glance at on their own is a definite benefit to having a local guide.

If your only in Wellington for a couple of days you must take a walking tour. I was travelling on my own and met up with my guide, Bob, at the information centre. His excellent knowledge and enthusiasm for this city was second to none. What Bob didn't know wasn't worth knowing. We walked at a relaxed pace and he showed us all the sites and the history behind them. The buildings with there architecture was amazing and alot of interesting points would have been missed if you were walking around on your own. A must for anyone passing through with limited time. I think they could maybe extend the 2 hour tour and maybe make it longer but apart from that, cheers Bob.
