“Pad Thai, Don't think so”
Reviewed January 25, 2014

Having been before many years ago and having a desire for pad Thai before a movie decided on Kumar.
If you want authentic Pad Thai it's not here. Both the seafood and chicken were bland and lacked the sweet sour pungent flavours of the real thing. No spice and no fresh chili accompaniment available just an awful liquid chili sauce on the table.
Chicken wings, cooked to order were tasteless and greasy.
Service is non existent. You order at the counter and after they bring the food the wait staff slink off to the corner till you go.
This will be off my list till it changes hands. Hopefully soon.

“Pad thai chicken - yum yum yum”
Reviewed January 15, 2014

I've been coming here for the chicken pad thai since I was a student 10 years ago. Back then the pad thai was about $6 or $7 and it's $12 or $13 now, still excellent value and still as delicious as ever. Addictive even. My husband has eaten the sweet and sour chicken satay, and pronounced it very good, as well as the pork dumplings. Those were also good. The service is smiley but nothing special. Definitely the pick of places to eat in the Reading Cinemas complex.

“Good but not great”
Reviewed July 19, 2013

I went here for dinner as I wanted something a little more sophisticated than the rest of the food court had to offer. The meal I had ordered was what it was described as, but it was not very flavourful. The service seemed slightly hostile ( there was a sign saying that if you order under $6 per person you are not allowed to eat in!) and the head of staff looked at me as if I was interrupting something. My food came on time, but, as I was sitting and waiting for it, a young couple asked for a refund on their forty-something dollar meal. Their reason was; 'We've been waiting here for half an hour, we've got a movie to go to and you still haven't given us any food yet' . After being asked of the refund, the waitress opened the cash register and pulled out a $10 note and said 'This much only.' After a short argument, the couple left empty handed but given verbal assurance that their next meal would be free. Anyway, food and service were quite average, but this is one of the few places in wellington that serve this quinine in this area.

“Cheap and tasty food”
Reviewed May 13, 2013

Dined here recently for a late lunch. Had entree's of dumplings, roti bread with satay sauce on the side and calamari with wassabi mayo - All very good in their own right. For mains our group had two noodle dishes and marinated chicken with cashews, veges and a red curry sauce. All were very nice and well liked. Good portion sizes, well priced and well presented. Excellent flavours too. Will be stopping in again for sure.

“Extremely non child-friendly.”
Reviewed March 1, 2013

We were looking for somewhere to rest and have something a bit more tasty than the nearby McDonalds. We sat down in this otherwise unoccupied restaurant. As the baby changing facilities in the cinema were closed at the time, we quickly changed our baby on one of the seats (nothing messy). At this point a woman who seemed like the owner charged over to our table and asked us very aggressively what we were going to order. When we responded that we weren't sure, she told us to leave without even showing us the menu. I have never experienced such an unfriendly attitude before in New Zealand.
