“Beach walks, swimming, dining or just ice-creams and coffee on the sea wall”
Review of Days Bay

Days Bay
Reviewed May 11, 2012

Days Bay is really popular in the summer - nestled at the base of steep bush clad hills it offers a gravel beach with safe sheltered waters and several cafe choices nearby - and a jetty which you can catch a ferry service from into Wellington City's CBD. Days Bay is part of Eastbourne, a suburb of Lower Hutt City. It is on the way to other great places to walk or cycle and Eastbourne Village. It has three cafes, one slightly more posh, one tiny one that sells icecreams and coffee, and a one that does cafe meals, brunches and coffees and cake to takeaway. Williams Park just up the road also has picnic areas and a cafe and lots of green grass to kick a ball if walking on the beach is not your thing. The beaches nearby are also fun to snorkel and swim in.
