Your staff is fantastic and you cannot fault your clean rooms. Breakfast was absolutely tops!!!More
overall a decent budget hotel. however, their TVs are too small and some rooms do not have a fridge.
Hi leedron, thank you very much for taking the time to post your feedback on your stay at CQ Comfort Hotel Wellington. We are glad you enjoyed your stay with us, especially the location of the hotel. In regards to the size of the TV in your room, we are pleased to let you know that this year we have plans to upgrade all of the TV's in the rooms to a modern, flat screen. We can also make a note on your next booking to request a room with a fridge. Thank you again for sharing your experience on TripAdvisor and we hope we get the opportunity to welcome you back to CQ Hotels Wellington soon. Happy New Year!

The room had almost nowhere to store underwear, socks, t-shirts etc nor toiletries in the bathroom. The closet space was meagre and poorly organised. There was no fridge as had been reqeusted. Parking cost $20 per day in the hotel garage. The window-frames were ancient and could do with a lick of paint.
Good Malay restaurant across the street. Handy location for Cuba Street pedestrian mall, Te Papa museum.
Hi Carolyn J
Thank you for taking the time to share your comments concerning your stay at the CQ Hotels Wellington. Your feedback is extremely important as it enables us to continually improve our service and provides a memorable experience to our valued guests. I am looking forward to welcoming you in a near future.
We stayed here for 2 nights recently. We chose the hotel because of the location and price. The room was very small, but clean and the bed comfortable. All the usual amenities in the room, but no fridge. The water in the shower was cold then steaming hot, and the tap only seemed to let warm water out in the basin. I reported this and was told that it was a common problem and would be looked at again. The main entrance to the hotel is on Cuba Street, however after a certain time at night you have to go in the entrance around the back where there is an intercom to let you in. No big problem really. Overall, we were happy with our stay there, especially as we were in Cuba street, my favourite part of Wellington. Many cafes and unusual shops to visit and not too far to walk to Courtney Place.
Thank you for your review. I am pleased to read that you enjoyed your stay as well as the hotel facilities. I have taken note of your comment in regards to the water temperature and forwarded your message to our Maintenance department for their review. Thank you again for sharing your experience on TripAdvisor, I do hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back to CQ Hotels Wellington again in the future. Sincerely - Olivier LACOUA
Were on a short weekend break, had stayed before in the Quality side of hotel, but we only wanted somewhere to shower and sleep, room was small with two single beds, beds were very firm & comfortable, bathroom was room, shower was great, could of done with brighter light over mirror room and bathroom were spotless, if you are looking for clean, comfortable affordable in walking distance of most of Welligntons attractions and some fantastic restaurants and bars then this would do the trick, if you want big tv's large room, lots of towels etc stay on the quality side, we had a twin room at the back of the hotel there was some noise from the strip, the room as no air con but the windows open , would stay here again for 1-2 night trip.
Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback and for your continued loyalty to the hotel. The comments you made regarding your stay with us are most appreciated and we look forward to welcoming you back to CQ Hotels Wellington hotel in the near future.
Wishing you Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2012 - Sincerely - Olivier LACOUA - General Manager
No parking. No air conditioning. The room was too hot to stay in during the day. I actually had to stay out till late, as the room was unbearable. The "mattress" was the most uncomfortable thing i have ever slept on, possibly acquired from the $2 shop? The pipework make so much noise that it felt like you were at the Huka Falls whenever someone opened a tap in the room next door.
Not that i expect the whole piping to be changed, and of course not all "hotels" have air-conditioning, but at $149 a night, these are expected.
The room i stayed in was, at a stretch, worth $14.90 a night ... not $149.
Will never set foot in that place again, and will make sure no one i know does either.
