Our family of five stayed in this clean, very spacious, comfortable apartment for two nights. We occupied the only three bedroom in this complex and were very impressed. Although it certainly didn't have a five star view the apartment in it self was in a fabulous location, was very large and fitted out to a very high standard. We really enjoyed our stay here. We found the staff to be very friendly and extremely helpful. We would certainly recommend this accommodation.

Dear Family5Perth,

Thanks for your valuable feedback! I am pleased that your family enjoyed the stay with us and you found the staff very helpful. Great to hear that the positives made up for the lack of view from the rooms.

We look forward to welcoming you and your family on your next visit to Wellington.

Kind Regards,

Ideal city centre location these are serviced apartments with a kitchen area with washing machine, tumble dryer, oven, hob, microwave and dishwasher. We stayed in a one bedroom unit and there was plenty of space with a generous dining and living area. My only disappointment was that there was no view from the window.
There was one hour free internet available in the lobby which was on the 6th floor.
If you intend to arrive by car make sure you check the hotel website because although the address is Lambton Quay the entrance is on the rear. There is no parking available on Lambton Quay.
The staff were friendly and efficient and there was a supermarket within 5 mins walk if you wished to stock up on food to use the kitchen facilities.
I would certainly stay here again having got a great deal through Expedia.com.

This hotel was a lovely surprise and probably our favourite of all we stayed in during our vacation. My brother, sister-in-law and I had a 2 bedroom apartment with a fully equipped kitchen, which we had not expected. After several days of eating in restaurants it was a nice change to go to the local supermarket and pick up some food and make our own dinner and breakfast. There was a nice size living room, and dining area. 2 bedrooms - one with a washroom. The bathroom had a washer and dryer. All very clean and well equipped. The best part was it was right in the middle of the city but still quiet. Would thoroughly recommend.

The apartment we were given on the 1st floor had 2 qs beds but we needed 1qs and 2 single beds, the staff were very accommodating and we were instantly changed to a 2 bedroom apartment on the 5th floor, which turned out to be a much more roomy apartment, so we were very happy.
This hotel is in the middle of the city and is walking distance to Te Papa, the wharf, the shops and the cable car.
We found it quite difficult to locate restaurants for dinner, having read that Wellington was full of cafes and restaurants that was surprising. We were told by a couple of people about areas with "lots"of restaurants, but there would be hardly any to choose from. A lot of the restaurants are pubs or bars as well, there didn't seem to be many cafes or straight restaurants..
We travel with 2 teenagers and found that Wellington did not have a lot to offer except museums. Would recommend a 2 night stay if you are travelling with older kids (unless the family likes to visit museums) we stayed 3 nights which was a bit too long.
City life hotel has continental breakfast which is split into 3 price levels, the 1st price level is $7.00 for which you are allowed to have tea/coffee/juice and toast, the 2nd price level was $12.50 and you could have cereal, yogurt and fruit but includes nothing to drink, it is called the quick n healthy breakfast, the third price level is $20.50 and is called the full buffet breakfast but there is no hot food only cold meats and cheese as well as everything on the previous 2 options. It is rather odd that there is nothing to drink in the 2nd option as most people would have something to drink with breakfast.

The hotel itself was lovely as were the staff. The car parking and front door of the reception was a bit hard to find as the map given out at reception is missing the last small street you have to go down and the intersection photos are so dark that they are not really helpful. They are dark because they have been photocopied a lot, so a suggestion would be to use another map that has all the streets and print the document off the computer so the photos remain clear.

Our family of five stayed in a 2-brm apartment for 2 nights at Citylife during a touring holiday. The apartment was quite small and felt a bit cramped, especially with our son having to sleep on a roll-away bed in the lounge area. Its a bit tired and needs some refreshing but the location is great, right on Lambton Quay. Our apartment was on the fourth floor which is the same level as reception, which is accessed from Gilmer Terrace. We arrived by car and found access quite difficult. If the angle parking outside reception is full, backing out is quite a tight manoever. Carparking is charged at $15/day. With the small carpark full, we were directed to park in a carparking building about 300 m up Gilmer Terrace. Our apartment faced Lambton Quay and there was quite a lot of street noise which made it impractical to open the windows to let in fresh air. There is no aircon in this property and the stuffiness added to the general feeling that this was an average place to stay and the worst of the 5 apartments we stayed in during this trip.

I stayed for one night (Dec 31) arriving approx 7.30pm the reception desk was attended by a single person who showed me to my room. The room was drab and when I requested an upgrade was advised that the hotel was full and was correctly told that this was type of room I had booked. The Hotel Restaurant was closed that night (I was informed of this beforehand ) and being very tired from travelling did not feel going out for dinner.Had an adequate breakfast there (the dinning area was empty of guests). What was confusing having been told that the hotel was full I only saw one other guest on the fourth floor and when checking out ( by the same staff member who ckecked me in) the foyer was empty.

Dear Brian493,

Thanks for providing your feedback on TripAdvisor. I am sorry to hear that the room you stayed in did not meet your expectations. I can assure you that the hotel was full on 31st night and it would be a coincidence for the foyer to be empty at times you were present the next morning.
