Stayed for a night here before flying off. Good location just beside Cuba St and free off street parking. Walking distance to Te Papa museum. Only thing to be aware of is the noise - could hear loud sounds of running water from neighbouring rooms and also footsteps from the stairway late into the night.

The owner was very helpful and friendly. We were on the 4th floor with a beautiful view of Wellington. There were some works going on at the building but this is only temporarely.
Nice room with fully equipped kitchenette, separate bedroom and en-suite bathroom. Clean and quiet. Old charm.
Fantastic location near Hwy 1, Cuba Street with plenty of restaurants and shops, Civic Square, the Marine Parade, the Beehive & Parliaments Buildings, Mt Victoria Lookout.... And you can't get lost.
Definitely stay here! Guido and Marlène, Gent, Belgium

Room Tip: Take a room on the 4th floor. What a view!

Stayed in the 'Penthouse' for 2 nights. The apartment was large, light and airy, it apeared to have been decorated recently. It could probably sleep 5 or 6 people. There are great views of Wellington and its surrounds from the large balcony that is on two sides of the apartment, pity there was no table and chairs out there so you could sit out.

The lift did not go to the top floor but stopped one floor below so had to carry suitcases up one flight of stairs.

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights in March which was probably 2 days too long. The hotel is very centrally located. The room was clean but pretty tired looking. Paint peeling off the ceiling.Great view on both sides. Great cooking facilities, stove top, microwave, fridge, good laundry downstairs. Staff friendly. The only let down was the Wifi. We were only allowed 200MB for 5 nights, not 200 per day but 200 for the whole 5 days. This is the least I've experienced in the whole month we spent in New Zealand.

Stayed here for two nights. Good welcome on arrival, given milk, plans of city, how to get to local restaurants and to inter islander ferry. Unfortunately our bathroom could have done with a little a little tlc! Also only got a view of the back of the property. I'm sure had I got a city view room I would have thought it a lot better. Good location for Cuba street and all the place to eat. We're given fresh towels but didn't remake the bed, and this had always been done elsewhere. Also light not working in the corridor, very dark on your way to the lift.

This motor inn offers exceptional value for inner city Wellington with free parking, walkable distance to numerous restaurants, bars, cafes, food stores for supplies. Rooms are clean and well equipped. Our bathroom was newly renovated and plenty of amenities provided. Mark was an excellent host and said if we wanted Room 21 next time, just ring ahead to see if it would be available or he could try and make it available (ease of access on the first floor without needing the lift). The lift is about to be replaced and modernised. Don't let the facade of the building deter you as it's a classic. We'll definitely stay here again as it's perfect for a family with 2 children as they get the separate bedroom so you can get them off to bed while you command the main part of the room. Safe & quiet area of city which is also a bonus in the weekend. Excellent night views of the city from the kitchen window. Motorway on ramp is only a block away. Airport is approximately 10 minutes in normal traffic.

Located in walking distance to most places you would want to visit in Wellington, this inn is a great value. Helpful hosts, large room, spotlessly clean, great kitchenette, quiet, comfortable, with off-street free parking. Only negative was no free wifi.
