Lovely museum that presents New Zealand in the best way. Can not be missed if you are visiting Wellington.

We visited to see the Terracotta Warriors (amazing and well organised- we bought the tickets online prior, it was the last weekend they were here) and went through the Gallipoli exhibition as well. Both exhibits were excellent and must see. Parking for the museum was at a minimum so leave plenty of time to park in other garages across the road from the museum. Food at the museum em was average and overpriced...the cafe on the ground floor was the better value. Accessibility for us with a pram was a bit tricky and not well signposted. The lifts were being used by lots of people so the wait was a bit long for an available lift. A must see for anyone visiting Wellington.

We visited the Gallipoli exhibition, which is due to close soon. It is an outstanding modern presentation of this event. The Museum is huge and you need to visit on a couple of occasions to take in everything. It is free, so that helps.

This place is amazing, the real to life exhibits need to be seen to be believed. Every aspect of Te Papa is well thought out and very well organised.Don't go to Wellington without visiting this amazing place.

Very interesting for our very short trip in Wellington.. gives a quick overall picture of this quaint town. It was 5 minutes away from our hotel and on the wharf so it’s a great walk too
