Good for all ages. Very well done. Worth a visit. Great artifacts from the Maori and other Pacific islands creatively presented.

“Wish we had more time!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 6, 2012

We didn't arrive in Auckland until late one Thursday night, but luckily Te Papa is open until 9pm on a Thursday, so we managed to get a quick hour in. Interesting museum, both on the lives of Maori and white people, be sure to check out the massive treaty, it basically says that the white people own the land but the Maori own the water, which means when the NZ goverment wants to sell land to other countries if it has water in it they can't without Maori consent. Pretty cool!

“GREAT!”

Fantastic museum! Make sure you visit even if it's not for long! Very interesting displays and the most "high tech" museum I've ever visited! New Zealand history and culture is all represented here! This is a great place for individuals, couples or families!

“a place to fill in time on a wet day”

Permanent displays are new for visitors. The rides are great for teens to prevent boredom. Major attractions are a bit pricey, unfortunately, so I have only attended one because it was associated with activities for young children, about Science.
