The museum was near our hotel, but we did not really plan to visit this place. We had some free time, and were walking around the harbour front when we thought about going in. We did not expect much as it was much smaller than Te Papa Tongarewa, and we did not see many people going in. But, once you go inside, the collection of items had a clear theme about the history of Wellington with lots of items from the early days to more recent European settlement times, all related to the city. There also were many interactive sessions including hologram videos and other visual displays. The entry was free and the location is close to CBD and water front, so it is very easy to access.
