We just had on night in this hotel but the room was large and the beds very comfortable. The location on the front is good and easy to find but the surrounding walkable distance restaurants were not anything special. We probably would have been better eating in the hotel restaurant. The decor in the public area of the hotel is amazing if not slightly overpowering and that's all I'm going to say!

Stayed here with hubby and we had one of the apartments which is located without the hotel. It was very spacious and had a separate bedroom with a small kitchenette. Very clean and quiet and we would definitely stay here again. The Hotel is great and full of wonderful quirky art and great decor. Loved it all.

Many of our travelers appreciate the washer/dryers in the apartments and studios if they have been travelling awhile. The EXPRESSO machines are also a winner.
Thanks for staying with us.

Excellent location near everything you could possibly require in Wellington including fine dining, imported shoes, the museum and a local supermarket. Lovely to sit in the lobby bar of an afternoon, and the Hippopotamus restaurant is also not to be missed. Quirky, fun and functional at the same time.

Lovely review thanks. We have just started refurbishing all of our smaller rooms in a wonderful design style you will love on your next visit. We like to think of our guests having an experience when they stay with us, rather than just a room for the night! We try to be as different from other hotels as we can, in a positive way of course.
Did you manage the GYM and the POOL? Also the SUNDAY MARKET across the road is a great experience.
Thank you for staying and spreading the word!

Loved the location it was perfect for our night out in wellington. Was able to walk a short distance up the road to some great bars and restaurants, then in the morning we went to the Sunday markets right across the road from the hotel.

The reception area is beautiful, full of lovely art. The room was on the smaller side but for a short stay it was fine, the room was clean and the espresso machine in the room was a nice touch, the bed was firm but comfy. There was some loud bangs quite early in the morning, think it was the bins being picked up out side but other then that we had a great nights sleep.

The hotel has a great location, close to the museum and CBD. Not very far you could have a nice walk a long the coast and also about 5 minutes walk from Wakefield Street which is full of cafes a and restaurants. The apartment was very nice with reasonable area. The room was modern very clean. The restaurant is super fine either for breakfast or dinner. I don't recall anything bad about the stay there. Highly recommended

I stayed for a couple of nights and had high expectations, overall the hotel is decent but with a few let downs. I stayed in the new hotel extension - a 'premier room' that overlooked the street rather than the harbour. One of the reception staff gave me a tour of the hotel and showed me the standard hotel rooms that overlooked the harbour. Bearing in mind the price they appeared dated, a bit scruffy with pokey bathrooms, but on the plus side were compensated with amazing views of the harbour. However, my premier room had good amenities including a small kitchen, w/machine, quality coffee maker but the best feature was the large bath tub! This oozed luxury and was the perfect place to chill after a hard day spent walking round the compact city. The bed was comfortable with a nice touch of a pillow menu. The buffet breakfast was overpriced and pretty average (but has awesome views) so I suggest eat at one of the nearby cafes. The gym had a few pieces of decent equipment and the pool was okay if a little basic. The spa pool was useless with feeble jets.
Like other guests have remarked at this price level I would expect complimentary wifi!!! There's some nice art work in the reception areas which adds to the decadent atmosphere.

Reception staff were pleasant but I would expect a higher level of professionalism. Overall a pleasant stay.

Room Tip: Stay in the extension not in the main hotel building.
