The people at Reception were exceptionally helpful when we pulled in one day early. We were tired weary travellers and they did a fantastic job getting us into the hotel early. We stayed in the rooms that hadn't been 'updated' but they were still gorgeous and very clean and comfy.

The restaurant breakfast was amazing, worth the money. The art in the hotel was fantastic, go on the self guided tour.

Would highly recommend staying here.

Great hotel with an interesting history and central location to bars and the waterfront. The art and boutique design make it a lovely experience.
Rooms have awesome block out curtains which turn day into night if you are wanting to catch up on some extra sleep. The mattress on the bed was a little shallow, but otherwise comfortable.

We stayed here in October 2012 and were upgraded to a harbour-view room which was greatly appreciated. The room was spacious and clean, reception service friendly and efficient as were the staff in the restaurant. Breakfast was great and when it was explained that it was one of the guests' birthdays, a chocolate with a candle arrived and birthday greetings from the staff offered. Fabulous! The hotel is well-located close to restaurants, the waterfront and within easy walking distance of Lambton Quay. We will stay here again.

My husband and I were given an indulgence package to the Museum Hotel, and it was a lovely gift to receive. We stayed in an apartment room which was beautifully decorated and had a lovely bath. The package included breakfast at the Hippopotamus Restaurant and it is one of the nicest buffet breakfasts I have had at a hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is great, close to good restaurants and bars, Te Papa Museum and the harbourfront. We loved our stay at the Museum Hotel, and would definitely come back.

Stayed in the deluxe sea view balcony room at the Museum Art Hotel for two nights. The Hotel was in a great location close to the national museum, and the Courtenay Place restaurants and entertainment. It has an extensive and quite challenging art collection including rare motor bikes. They have an excellent restaurant and helpful staff, especially at the bar. They do have quirky lifts. If the breakfast seems a litle steep in price then Joe's Garage is an excellent cafe close by. The only change I would make would be to have a more quiet ceiling fan in the bathroom.

Room Tip: The balcony rooms add a great deal to your trip if you are staying more than one night

We arrived late in the evening after a long drive and were delighted there was a room available for us. The staff was friendly & accommodating. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We stayed 2 nights and enjoyed having a kitchenette in our room to make coffee and toast. The Hotel is in a great location for walking the city and enjoying all Wellington has to offer.

This is a stunning hotel. The art works and surroundings are sumptuous. Beds are comfortable. My room seemed like a studio apartment so we were able to make our own dinner. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Its in a great location across from the Te Papa and central to shops and restaurants.
