This is our favourite hotel when we visit family in the area. They quite often have a deal going at the weekend with free valet parking (normally $20 a day) and free buffet breakfast. The staff on reception are friendly and efficient. Central location with a lift down to the main shops. Comfy beds and very clean. The massage/beauty centre had some good winter deals, but unfortunately there was not enough time to indulge.

Club rooms are on the top floor and give access to the club room with great views for evening drinks. Location is great. Taxis use this hotel as a taxi stand so taxis are normally available. Parking for guests $20 per night. Free wi fi. Good dining room with pianist playing.

Room Tip: Club rooms are more expensive but add a bit of luxury

We booked a mystery hotel deal through wotif.com, and paid $105 for a room and free valet parking. The room was on level 20 at The Terrace end. It was clean and tidy, and the window opened which allowed fresh air. However, the window seals had deteriorated and so was a little noisy with the wind when closed. The hotel is a little tired, but certainly more than adequate. The staff were friendly and efficient (concierge, valet and check-in).

The hotel accesses both The Terrace and Lambton Quay, and we found the walk into Courtenay Place easy.

We would definitely consider staying here again instead of taxing home after a night out in Wellington city.

Great location, good food and comfortable rooms. What I love about this place is that you have everything without having to leave if its too windy outside, although Wellington is such a nice place why not go for a stroll along the waterfront 5 mintue walk away or shopping that is only a elevator ride away.
You can attend the gym at your leisure and if self-soothing is on the cards they also have therapeutic massage available which are very reasonably priced and worth the visit.

It's a nice hotel in a great central location with direct access onto both the Terrace and Lambton Quay. The breakfast is amazing so make sure you get a deal that includes it in your room price!

The rooms are of a nice size and the bathroom is quite spacious.

My only gripe is the cost of wifi access - yes you are given free access for 20 minutes or 20mb, but considering this is a 4 star hotel the cost of access above this is extremely expensive and quite unrealistic, especially when a lot of lower class hotels have access to free wifi. My tip is to head down onto Lambton Quay where there are a number of free wifi networks available.
