“Lots of options, great views”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 20, 2014

These trails are good - they are maintained well and offer walkers lots of options about distances and terrain. The views and landscape are great.

“Beautiful scenery and well maintained tracks”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 10, 2014

Recently I completed the Wellington skyline walkway starting at Karori Park and finishing at Old Coach Road Johnsonville. This walk took approximately 4 hours and gave stunning views of both the harbour, wellington suburbs and Makara beach. This trail includes some steep climbs but it is well worth the view particularly at the top of Mt Kau Kau. The only thing we found difficult was finding the start at the back of karori park as it was not well sign posted, the track actually starts on the wahine loop track

“scenic”

Walkways now well established and you can now virtually cover the outskirts of wellington from Island Bay all the way to Johnsonville.Along the way are scenic views and also benches for relaxing and resting.

“Something for everyone”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 17, 2014

There are walkways for all levels of walkers, including this overweight, under-fit middle-aged woman. It's great to get out into the beautiful walkways around Wellington and enjoy the wonderful views. The walkways are mostly well signposted, are well kept and the maps (available from the i-Site information centre or downloaded from the internet) are very useful.
