... because you'll want to throw in a few words to participate in the very French atmosphere of this delightful place. And the team is very polite about the sometimes mangled Franglais that results!

We usually visit La Cloche for the café experience - nice atmosphere, good coffee and great counter food as well as brunches and lunches. (Although we avoid Sundays, sadly: no Sunday papers!)

However we recently needed a restaurant just out of the CBD on a Friday night when city restaurants were full because of some big events in town, and La Cloche proved a great choice. We arrived late - and others arrived even later - but the staff were more than happy to accommodate us even though the kitchen should have been closing.

Most importantly, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Really nice food, good service and all provided with a genuine touch of French flair. The evening menu is not extensive - think of this more as a café doing restaurant-type evenings than a full service - but the choices were excellent and we certainly had no complaints.

Both the café (counter) food and restaurant menu items are perhaps a little on the pricey side, but the quality is high and that's not enough to stop us returning.

Definitely recommended.

This is one of our regular haunts in our home town. I tend to be a creature of habit when we go to La Cloche, always having the ham, cheese and mushroom crepes that come with hot veges or a salad followed by lemon cake (or chocolate mouse) and coffee. My hubby has also tried their omlette several times. We have what we call "100 per centers" when it comes to food. All the food we have ever had at La Cloche falls into this category :-) The place is also comfortable and relaxed and authentically French. Staff are friendly and welcoming. A great place for brunch, lunch and beyond.

We Love La Cloche. My husband and I visit regularly for morning tea, lunch or just a casual coffee. I practise my French language skills - always greeted with great courtesy and a smile! Coffee is great, food is always marvellous and the service is superb. We pass many other cafes and restaurants to get to La Cloche. Parking is always available nearby.

This cafe is located in an industrial area and is easily missed when driving by but has a great little menu and doesnt take itself too seriously. The menu and most of the staff are french and i have to say that both dish's that my wife and i had were excellent. Looking to a return visit very soon.

They're French, they provide good service and food, the parking can be a challenge but well worth a visit
