We have just recently returned from a four week stay in New Zealand, three weeks of this stay was at the Acorns in Seatoun. To book accommodation for so long is a bit of a gamble, but we hit the jackpot with the Acorns.
Its spaciousness, cleanliness and lovely décor along with its very good sized patio and excellent sea views made for an extremely comfortable stay.
Everything you need for the stay is found in the accommodation,
Emily and Tim are friendly, helpful and there if you need them while respecting your privacy, Emily s home baked treats were an unexpected bonus, thanks Emily!!
Will we be staying there again? You bet we will !!

We've been travelling around New Zealand this summer, staying in a number of places (all about the same cost) for a couple of nights then moving on. Acorns is by far the best guest house we have stayed at, and not just on this trip! Would recommend Acorns in a heartbeat.

Excellent accommodation, well presented and 110% cleanliness, views exactly as described on the website. Easy access by road with roadside parking outside property, good place to stay if exploring Wellington (easy access by bus which runs frequently). Hosts were very friendly and excellent in information they gave us and went the extra by booking us a restaurant for that evening. All in all a highly recommended rating well earned.

Even 3 months later I still remember our stay at The Acorns back in August with fondness.

About 7mins away from Wellington Airport, it was easy to find with plenty of parking right outside. Stepping through the door of the Kowhai suite was like leaving reality behind and entering a world of bliss: the room was beautiful and spacious with mod cons, the bathroom cosy, a good sized wash house area, the balcony space open with amazing views and an intimate kitchen/dining area. There was also free wifi and access to sky TV.

From the first email enquiry to the day we said goodbye, Emily was professional, warm, friendly and extremely accommodating. My sister and nephew were flying in from Australia at 12am for a memorial the next day and we wanted somewhere to unwind before facing a BIG Islander family reunion. Because there was going to be 2 adults and 2 kids in the suite, Emily brought in an extra single bed. And get this ... she bakes! I knew this from other reviews but to experience it in person was heavenly - she even gave us more to take home with us :)

Final verdict: Amazing owners. Great value for money. Your own private oasis away from home - will not hesitate to stay there again if we get the chance and it's an experience you have to try for yourself! Thank you Emily <3

The owner Emily was helpful from the moment we booked, arranging our arrival time and breakfast. We were only there for 1 night as a stop over on the way to see family, it was a shame we were not there for longer (although it was very convenient for the airport). The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was lovely, the homemade granola and fresh berries were a nice touch! All in all the experience was excellent.

Acorns was an excellent choice for our three nights in Wellington. It is an easy bus ride into the centre of Wellington and there is a very acceptable Italian restaurant within walking distant if you don't fancy cooking. The room was lovely with all the facilities we could have hoped for including a washing machine (very handy for those travelling light). The breakfast provided was amazing: fresh fruit salad, creamy yogurt, homemade toasted muesli (which I could happily have lived off), freshly baked bread with conserves, fresh juice and filter coffee. If you are lucky (and we were every day) Emily will have baked something rather delicious. The view from the balcony is delightful and if Wellington wasn't such a wonderful place to visit, you could happily while away your time with a glass of wine watching the ferries come and go.

On our recent trip to New Zealand, we stayed at six different hotels/B & B's and this one was by far the best. We arrived before the owners, Emily and Tim, got home and found the key in the mailbox which they had told us to look for. We stayed in the Kowhai suite which is upscale, beautifully decorated, with a comfortable queensize bed and a great travel-oriented library. The suite is very private with a lovely courtyard area just off the bedroom. The room was quiet and comfortable. Emily and Tim are terrific hosts and did everything to make our stay memorable. Emily even volunteered to drive us downtown to a restaurant we had a voucher for because we didn't want to deal with the traffic. Emily is a wonderful baker and provided us with incredible chocolate brownies, baked breaked, home-made granola, and fresh fruit.

Room Tip: Both of the suites are excellent. Emily and Tim planned the house to serve as a B & B and they t...
