Good good, happy to come here again. Had the Thai dim sim, kraree puffs and red curry. All very nice!
Thai chef professes to be a Thai restaurant, but it doesn't live up to its namesake.
I ordered "grapow" which is meant to consist of Thai holy basil as the predominate herb. Having asked them whether they can do this dish spicy, and whether this is legitimately Thai holy basil, I was given a reassuring "yes" by the waitress on both accounts.
Having received my dish and noting that it was not spicy nor containing real grapow, I was fundamentally disappointed by the experience.
I understand that it is near on impossible to grow real grapow in a New Zealand climate, but they should acknowledge these limitations and not mislead customers.
The mains were very coconut and salt heavy, but they are a far cry from anything one would sample in Thailand.
This restaurant has a very welcoming and warm atmosphere. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the food we ordered was good value for money, and the quality of the food we had was exceptional. Thank you for providing us with a positive first time experience. We will definitely recommend this restaurant to our friends and family. We'll be back :-)
Lovely aromas when you walk in and smiles all round. Really great restaurant. Great service and very tasty food.
