Description: Hung & Nga are delighted to welcome you to Saigon Taste. We have chosen for Saigon Taste the most popular dishes in Saigon. Each dish is a common Vietnamese meal either for breakfast, lunch or dinner. You will be familiar with Vietnamese herbs such as: mint, basil, coriander, lemongrass, ginger all common in our food. Saigon is Vietnam's centre of businesses and developments. And food in Saigon is a combination of foods from throughout Vietnam. We hope that you enjoy the Taste of Saigon as much as we do.

We had only just finished watching Peter Jackson's Hobbit Pt 2 around the corner at the Embassy Theatre. Initially headed off to try Ortega Fish Shack and Bar, but discovered that it was closed for Christmas holidays. One of our alternatives was to have dinner here and we were treated to a delicious Vietnamese dinner.
We started with a shared traditional Beef Pho soup (big serving so sharing is a good way to taste it but not get too full) - just like in HCM City! We tried the beef/seafood pancake, crispy noodle beef & veg, grilled chicken with rice & a vegetarian stir fry. The food was delicious & thoroughly enjoyable.
The service was friendly, charming & very efficient.
A very affordable & satisfying dinner!

Thank Aleir

The staff are very friendly and the restaurant was fairly busy. The food was ok, however I thought it was lacking some taste in a few dishes, particularly the Vietnamese pancake where the filling was quite bland.

Overall though it is worth a try, the prices were reasonable, the decor is fine and the staff were friendly.

A cheap sit down meal very near Courtney Place (takeaway prices with table service). We loved the food, with generous tasty servings. We have returned three times already.

Entre and mains for $20 makes this place great value. The food is basic Vietnamese but quite tasty. The reassurance isn't flash but the staff are friendly. Not the best Vietnamese I've every had but not bad.

With a family holiday planned to Vietnam this year we thought it a good idea to sample the flavours before going. We heard about this place from workmates - and have now been back a couple of times. The restaurant is basic yet comfy and warm and tables placed well so noise is not an issue. The staff are really friendly and smiley and wait patiently while you decide off the easily understood menu. We've tried all the starters, favourites being the fresh Vietnamese Rolls, the Pork Bun, and wontons. Given the size of the mains, you don't really need starters but they're delish so just do it! Flavours are fresh and tasty in all courses - noodle dishes are a speciality - and the prices are really cheap given the amount of food you get. Highly recommend you try it out.
