A fantastic evening wining and dining French style. The Larder has a special Burgundy themed menu for this month which diners could opt for at time of booking. Once we chose to go with this menu it was then basically left up to the chef to produce dishes which represented that region of France - all dishes were tastefully created and very delicious. The wine match recommendations were spot on too. Friendly service, cosy surroundings and reasonable prices completed a great night out.

A meal made in heaven - we had booked for a special meal months ahead, and we were not disappointed. Every dish was a gourmet experience starting with the carrot cream soup, the seafood souffle, to the lamb braise with two cuts, and the filet / braised beef, to the jerusalem artichokes, the roast pumpkin, and finally the chocolate and tomatillo dessert.

Conveniently close to Weta studios and the hub of Wellington's film industry....The Larder offers a small (but good quality) selection of main courses or light bites...Whether you are grabbing a coffee (after visiting the nearby Weta Cave) or looking for something more substantial ...worth a visit !

Because the scuttlebutt had portrayed The Larder as a hidden-away discovery, we were expecting more than we got. The cooking was good but not excellent. The room was very noisy. The wine prices were high, although not stratospheric. The restaurant would probably be an asset as a neighborhood eatery, but it is not good enough to justify a drive from the city center.

We caught the bus along to the Weta Cave and stumbled upon this gorgeous restaurant. We we're delighted! We were lucky to get a table for 5 straight away. The menu all sounded great and we had to convince the children to choose a meal as it was more sophisticated than their usual cafe choices. Everything was just stunning. The children were impressed and surprised that they loved all the weird sounding stuff! The grown ups were very happy. We enjoyed our wine and the service. The room was simple and tasteful, the coffee was good. We were really happy to have had such a lovely experience on our weekend away.
