Took staff members here to thank them for good work. They have done the charming old fashioned decor very well. Three tiered cake stands full oh goodies. Floral mismatched cups and plates. Fine china. Wide choice of teas. Parking available. Only quibble is that you were only allowed two types of tea between four people, which in our group required compromise.

Went for Afternoon Tea at Martha’s for our friend Grainne’s Birthday last week – what a day!

We couldn’t have been looked after better!

The setting is just beautiful – reminds you of your Granny’s house – dainty little tea cups, tea cosies, flowers, small sugar bowls with sugar lumps etc…

Our waitress was so pleasant and informed us what was on the menu in great detail

Food was delicious as was the tea that they re-filled 3/4 times free of charge!

We arrived at 2pm and sat there until after 5pm…chatting, eating, drinking tea and enjoying the ambience!

Definitely a must for a Mother/Daughter Day, friendly catch up…

The thing I love about Welly are those hidden away gems they you don't really know are there and really only get to hear about by word of mouth. Marthas Pantry is certainly one of those.
From the outside it looks very plain an uninteresting, but inside its china teapots an chintz.

I had phoned an booked in advance as I had been warned it was a popular place, and so glad I did as there was not one table which didn't have a "reserved " sign on. When I did call I was impressed they asked if there were any special diet requirements as the were happy to plan around them an do special requests. Or was the visit a special occasion maybe .

You can book a high tea, which cost $25 pp, or just choose a few things from the counter which are all individually priced. We went with high tea, for $25 you get a bottomless pot of tea, in an old fashioned teapot wearing a hand made cosy -- all very sweet ( there are a wide selection of teas to choose from). Then a tiered cake plate arrives with a selection of sweet an savoury items .... on first glance you may think it doesn't look much, but looks can be deceptive and by the end we were both pleasantly full.

The food was lovely, service was great and the overall experience well worth it. A great place to go for a treat .

I went to Martha's for a high tea with a group of friends and 2 children in May 2012, which was very successful and enjoyable. Having called a few places we settled on Martha's as relatively cheap at $25 pp for high tea with the option available for some members of the group to not participate (and just have counter food and coffee etc), compared with other places which were up to $40 pp at the most expensive place. The staff were friendly and set up a small table with a toy tea party and balloons for the children, which was very special and fun for them. The adults all enjoyed themselves, the food was lovely and very well presented. The tea was delicious and we stayed for about 2 hours chatting and drinking tea. The decor was lovely too. The only thing I could possibly complain about was that the table felt a little cramped. All in all it was an excellent venue for high tea and I strongly recommend it.

Wonderful owner....a delightful woman! This carries through to her business. We also went around the corner to the other establishment in the family: Arthur's.
Great setting and very good presentation and service at both establishments!
