“Average lunch”
Reviewed May 26, 2013 via mobile

I have eaten here on several trips to Wellington and it USED to be really really good. However on this occasion I was disappointed. The steak and homemade chips in herb butter was pretty average with poor quality steak. It used to be pretty wicked but not on this occasion. The house sandwich wasn't much better - the steak was also poor quality with about 30% inedible. The General Practioner needs to pick up its game as competition is plentiful in the CBD.

“Great little pub.”
Reviewed April 27, 2013

We had a fantastic meal at this great little pub. I would highly recommend it. The food and wine was excellent and very reasonably priced.

“What the doctor ordered”
Reviewed March 20, 2013

I had a busy day and just wanted good food, drink in a chilled out setting. In an area with either poor chain reaturants or ones that are over priced and pretentious this place is the perfect solution. There's a great mix of good beers, some great wine and the food was brilliant; straight forward great flavours perfectly cooked. Next time I'm in the city I shall visit again.

“Was really hungry”
Reviewed March 11, 2013

Lovely place to eat and good value. Waitresses were very charming and helpful although a carafe of tap water and the ordered food did seem to take a long time to reach our table!!!!! - but then I was reAlly hungry and food always takes longer when you want it fast!!

Homely and warm atmosphere for a tourist as well as a local.

“Delightful food in a lovely setting.”
Reviewed March 8, 2013

Located in an old doctors surgery, you can see some of the olden day equipment they used to use. The building itself is a bit of a novelty and lovely to sit inside.

We sat outside in an area protected from the wind. A relaxed atmosphere, and the food was really lovely. Everything you want in a restaurant.

We would go back without hesitation.
