On our last day in Wellington we were walking in the CBD and stumbled onto this place.
The staff were very friendy.
The atmosphere was very relaxing. We had ordered cocktails and pizza which very delicious. Highly recommend this place.

Went there on a Friday night.
For such a busy place they don't accept bookings just a waiting list; which can make you wait awhile before seated. Bar drinks were average and slow serve. Pizza was undercooked and pasta dishes had no flavour. Tables are too small for such large serving dishes. Restaurant was cramped and not very accessible for people using wheelchairs.
Will not return.

Needed a table at short notice for four adults and an infant. Despite being very busy, they accommodated us and were very helpful with an infant meal. Adult food very good but service rather slow, despite a busy restaurant. However, would definitely go again.

The atmosphere is awesome, a huge room with lots of long tables and smaller ones, for all sizes of groups. As is becoming the trend in Wellington, you can't book, so we turned up early. The cocktails are extensive and very tasty.

We dined as two couples and while our friends ordered the "Taste Wellington" set-menu, we chose from the a la carte menu. Their meal came with wine or beer, but the waiters never reminded them so they didn't really get full value.

I had the carbonara which was dry and bland - i had to add copious amounts of salt and pepper, which was disappointing. My partner had the Tunisian fish stew which was very tasty. The duck was also good, but the boulliabaise wasn't that nice.

For dessert my partner had the tiramisu - it seems they forgot the magical ingredient (coffee) because it was barely noticeable.

The service was very attentive, but probably not somewhere I would return to.

We only had one night in Wellington and were so glad we chose Osteria del Torro, by far the best dining experience we have had in a long time.

The service was sublime, just attentive enough without being overbearing, the food was superb (fish stew and Fatima's Tagine )- perfect, piping hot to the table, we have been getting so fed up with luke warm food in other restaurants. Perfectly priced, the décor is stunning, great open kitchen where we could observe all the action! The restaurant was almost full, but the staff calm and relaxed - definitely a well oiled operation!

We were made to feel so welcome we were reluctant to leave, (that's the plan I guess!) we stopped for a cocktail at the bar on the way out - well priced, again fantastic service, awesome cocktails, would have stayed for more if we weren't so tired!

Well done Osteria del Torro!
