I really enjoyed my few visits to soi, the food is served fresh and tastes fantastic, I love the atmosphere, I would recommend soi for people who enjoy fine dining and looking out at the water. Soi has a unique location as well.

We ate at Soi twice during our stay in Wellington and were very impressed with the food and service. All the food was freshly cooked and delicious . As other reviewers have said dishes are an interesting mix of east and west and included lots of fresh fish. The setting is of course exceptional as it is surrounded on three sides by water and there are wonderful views of Evans Bay . The Bar Area enjoys the same views and has a relaxing atmostphere. Wines and Moa Beer also excellent. All in all it deserves to be far better known

A nice tucked away restaurant on a great location out of the rush of the City yet close enough.
Service was pleasant and speedy, but slightly disappointed with quantity of the food compared to price being paid. Squid as an entre was nicely cooked but presented in a bowl with no garnishing except the dressing, could have been better for the price of $14.00. A main of chicken, failed to describe how the chicken was done but it came with a couscous salad. Again pleasant but it was simply a grilled chicken breast laying on couccous with tomato in it and a blob of tomato sauce on top. We felt something we could have done at home and for $28.00 a little too basic and showed little chefing skills. Other meals at the table again pleasant but lacking imagination and not true value for money. We believe huge potential if they get it right.

Had we not booked into the Bellavista, just a walk away, we would never have found it. Wanted somewhere nearby to eat, and it turned out to be one of the best restaurants for ambience we have ever found. Food was great, view to die for even though it was raining and dull, we would have returned the next night for a sunset meal, but they are closed Mondays. Bar area and pre drinks area is deliciously inviting, service was excellent. Problem is the parking, but you can park in Evans Bay road it is only a very short walk. If you dont want a meal, and the weather is fine, just go in for a drink, you will not be dissapointed.
