My family and I stopped here a couple of weeks ago for lunch after going to the wetaworkshop. What an awesome place! Great atmosphere! Very kid friendly and very kiwiana! I loved how the place was laid out and found it amazing how all the meat was cooked on the BBQ's outside. I ordered the 'catch of the day sammie' with a 'dairy free black doris plum, feijoa and ginger smoothie'. Absolutely amazing meal, bread was so fresh, fish was cooked well and the greens and aioli just amplified the flavours so well. The smoothie was absolutely devine! Best smoothie I have ever had!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE!

We stopped here for a quick lunch. There was seating inside and out. We picked outside, as we had children there were plenty of ride on toys for small children to amuse themselves. This is a great idea, as it stops kids from getting bored waiting for food!

We had fish with a chic pea salad which was delicious. The children all had hamburgers and I presume it was good, because there were no complaints and it all disappeared!
a very pleasant cafe with another great view of the bay while you eat!

Stopped in here with the family for a quick snack in the way to the airport. This place has an original energy about it that I really liked. It looks slightly roughy and ready but the staff were super friendly and it felt a bit like walking into someone's house having a barbecue with the extended family. They know what they are doing food wise - the thai fish burger was supreme as was the whitebait sandwich ( so often this is a let down!). We watched the sun go down across the harbour while sipping on a couple of nice beers from their great selection. nice wines also available. Awesome spot overall.

Great atmosphere and great coffee. Something a little different. Worth a stop. We didn't try the food but it looked and smelt pretty good.

We drove around ‘The Bays’ to this restaurant on a wet and windy Wellington day. Entering the venue (previously an air force building) was like a ray of sunshine with its multicoloured tables and chairs, colourful art on the walls and rather Bohemian staff.
The salmon served on a pea and haloumi fritter with a fennel and vine tomato salad were lovely and would have been excellent had the fish and fritter been a hotter temperature. The monkfish with beans and Lyonnaise potatoes were also good although the potatoes were a little crunchy and undercooked.
The service was initially very good although we were left unattended after our main courses were served and I had to go to the counter to ask for coffee.
With delicious smoothies and coffee the bill was $60 which seemed pretty reasonable. A shame that some aspects of the preparation slightly spoiled what would have otherwise been an outstanding lunch.
