Like everyone in New Zealand, I was looking for a quick ice cream fix after a nice long walk. Found it right here. Along with many other locals and tourists alike. And they have many other things, but that is what I waw looking for.

Thank Curt H

The staff here were very friendly, and the coffee was great. However we went for breakfast, waited 45mins, there were only two other small groups in the cafe, one of four and one of two. One breakfast finally arrived, the other they could not remember what had been ordered. Scrambled eggs it was, when it eventually arrived, it came with sausages and bacon, it was for a vegitarian, and the other person at the table had long finished his breakfast. In the end we just did not bother, they were happy to refund our money, but one of us left hungry.

Having just arrived in the area we were looking forward to a yummy, relaxed Sunday brunch at one of the many cafes along the strip. Unfortunately we picked Oceanside.

The very obvious identity crisis should have set alarm bells going off ....kiwi cafe, offering sushi for lunch, cafe menu for breakfast and served by a french team who all seemed to be hiding around the back of the counter rather than serving tables.

We ordered french toast and eggs benedict along with two flat whites. The coffees were forgettable ....not bad but no hit factor. The eggs benedict arrived ....and despite GETTING UP AND ASKING THREE TIMES ....where the french toast was ....it arrived 20 minutes later. When it did arrive I wasnt quite sure whether to dive in or perform CPR ....the toast, banana and bacon were quite literally drowning in a vat of syrup. A sickly, sweet and very soggy dining experience.

Not an isolated incident ....almost every table were craning their necks looking for attention from staff ...who continued to hide behind the counter ....long waits for food and dissapointed faces when it eventually showed up. The staff - whilst plentiful - showed no interest in remedying things or even offering an apology when food arrived late.

There are sooooo many good dining options in the Mt ....don't settle. These guys have a long way to go before they get a well earned dollar.

Called in to this cafe for. Snack had their special bacon and egg on toast, to rounds of multi grain bread to pieces of bacon and two poached eggs, very nicely presented and for 8nzd it is a real bargain.

The staff were ver friendly and they stayed open well after the cafes either side of them had closed at around 5pm which means they deserve plenty of business for staying open late and serving good reasonably priced meals

Ooh the coffee was excellent one of the best cups I have tasted in New Zealand.

Lovely views over the road to the beach and the South Pacific make it that much more pleasant.

I have just eaten lunch here with friends while holidaying at Mount Maunganui. Very friendly staff and prompt service. We all had the Teriyaki Chicken Salad. It was fantastic. Very fresh and hot. Will definitely have again. Nice outlook from cafe over to the boardwalk on main beach. Great price also.
