AJO'S Cafe & Bar
Restaurant details
Reviewed November 17, 2012

This is a suburban cafe charging restaurant prices - and failing to deliver. In hindsight we should have left when one of the wines was served in a glass that still had lipstick smudges on it. They replaced the wine but left the first glass on the table "so that you can drink it out of the other side, or pour it into the new glass" - ah, no thanks. So the second glass stood sentry over the meal which was two salmon mains, and a steak. The salmons appeared to be OK but the veggies were over-flavoured and the (extra cost) potatoes overcooked. The steak was served medium with onions, but it had been ordered medium-rare with mushrooms. When this was pointed out, the server insisted on getting mushrooms which arrived about two mouthfuls before that diner finished. The final insult was that the two of us who had salmon were woken in the night with vomiting and diarrhoea. Avoid.
