This is the only outdoor eating place right on the water in the city centre! The other outdoor facilities are across a very busy road and a not so busy train track. So the location is fantastic. The eating is BBQ tables off a tray with paper...the only way to eat their delicious fish and fantastic chips. This fish shop is very popular and at peak meal times expect a long wait for the cooked food. They only have a couple of cookers so when busy struggle to keep up. The queue goes out the door some days. They have a delicious looking range of fresh fish. A top place with top food.

Loved our snapper it was fresh and massive pieces .so much and so full .wont visit here again without getti g a feed from here.

Anyone will tell you the F and Cs are the best in town. The range of fresh fish, fish accompaniments, anything to do with fish I am sure couldn't be found better anywhere. Sitting out on the wharf to eat them is wonderful. You are enticed to enjoy eating there rather than taking home.

Well worth the wait so don't turn back they have the best fish and chips in New Zealand. Lovely setting right on the wharf so you know the fish is super fresh. The girls and guys do an excellent job and the place is kept spotless. They also sell fresh fish, mussels etc if you want to take it home to cook. You can get a you own choice of fish cooked for you or go with what the are cooking at that time. We have never been disappointed and tell visitors its a must to have Bobby's fish and chips at the wharf.
