If you want truly fresh Fish & Chips that goes straight from the fish, to fillets, to batter, to fryer and to the plate in minutes; then you want Bobby’s Fresh Fish Market. However if you are in a hurry then don’t go between 12noon and 1pm. We arrived at 12.15 and waited 45 minutes to get our order.
The quality and flavour was excellent and great value for money. We had two large fillets along with a scoop of chips for $12 – a large, somewhat greasy, lunch for two adults. But a bit of fat overload occasionally is not all bad!
Your order can be on a paper covered tray to enjoy at indoor or outdoor wharf tables; or the more traditional wrapped Fish & Chips parcels to take away.
Bobby’s Fresh Fish Market is not really a restaurant, but more of a Fisherman’s Wharf styled fresh fish outlet with a fish cabinet overflowing with all types of fresh fish and shellfish and outdoor tables to sit at and enjoy the harvest of the sea.
For a taste of an iconic New Zealand of Fish & Chips you cannot go past Bobby’s Fresh Fish Market.
