Arrived after a 12 hour flight and a 5 hour drive with two screaming kids and all I can say is THANK YOU!!! We were late arriving due to issues with our flights, this was no problem at all for the owners, Liz and Renee! They were warm, friendly and greeted us like their long lost family! My wife and I were exhausted which must have been prevalent as we were given a very nice bottle of red wine as a welcome gift from their own collection! Lovely gesture and much appreciated.

We settled in for 3 nights with an amazing lake view and plenty of time to relax in the hot tub over looking the lake. The place is utterly fantastic and very child friendly with a lovely heated swimming pool and cable tv to keep the kids busy.

I would highly recommend to couples and families and will be back in a heart beat to scared waters. Thanks again to liz and Renee you made our stay one of a kind. We will definitely be back.

Room Tip: lake front has amazing views and great access to the lake.

We decided to treat ourselves and stay at the Sacred Waters for 3 nights as it was my wife and 5 year olds birthdays. Firstly a Thermal apartment was not available so we were offered a Lakeview apartment at a reduced rate which we choose to take.

The apartment [15] was very modern and contemporary which is what we like. Furthermore it was spacious with a complete view of the lake and Mt Ruapehu over the top of the Lakefront apartments in front of ours. The manager Renee was very friendly and always helpful and prompt. The Wifi Internet was unfortunately not reliable in our apartment [coverage issues with concrete walls?] so I used the wired Internet which fast and reliable. Renee provided a cable as I did not bring one with me. Servicing was very good when we requested it. The Bathroom items i.e. shampoos and soaps etc were of superior quality. The car park provided was spacious.

We would definately return and look forward to doing so. Our 5 year [& us] enjoyed it.

We booked two lakefront apartments (the 4 bedrom lakefront and the 3 bedroom lakefront) for a 40th birthday boys weekend. Seven of us stayed in both aprtments. The apartments are faultless with sensational views of the lake. The outdoor tub (not a spa) is excellent.

The only issue we had was a complaint from the apartment above that we were noisy on the Friday night. We were advised by the manager the next day to be mindful of the family above us. The manager was quite curt and officious and clearly did not like the fact that seven blokes were having a good time with a few beers. We found this a little odd. All of us a blokes have families and are well passed huge parties. There was no loud music, but we were talking and laughing until about midnight. In most places, this would not lead to a warning.

Nevertheless, we were a little more careful on the Saturday night in terms of noise. The ironic thing is that we were awoken by children at 6:30am. But given we are all parents, we of course did not complain.

While this an excellent location, be aware that it may not be the best place for a group of friends given that there is little tolerance for any group noise after 10pm. Bear in mind we had no loud music and were not screaming and yelling, just talking and laughing and retired to bed at midnight. A bit of a shame as the place itself it top notch.

Stayed for 1 night in a Lakeview apartment in June,It was very nice, well appointed and well heated (it was a bit cool in Taupo). Had a lovely view over the lake and good to have secure parking. My only criticism is that I felt it was a little overpriced.

The apartment had the most amazing view, was big, all the mod cons, and an efficient heat pump for the cooler weather. The hot tub on the balcony was a real treat to relax the muscles and body after dinner. Beds were comfortable, the gym worked off the overeating, and a secure covered carpark. We had a lakefront, three bedroomed apartment which we enjoyed with our daughter and son-in-law

We were lucky to get upgraded to a penthouse room with an amazing view across the lake. Sitting in the hot tub on our private balcony enoying the view was a highlight of the weekend. The 2 bedroom apartment was huge and very well appointed. Definitely a place we will return to.
