It won't keep you entertained for a whole afternoon, but it is worth the slight de-tour out of town to have a look at this unique natural wonder. There is a small shack selling sweets, drinks, postcards and other memorabilia in the car park.

Words or a photo can't accurately depict the sheer force behind the turquoise water roaring down the river beneath you. It is incredible. Stop off for 10 or 15 minutes on your way to or from another destination (wouldn't go too far out of your way to visit as unless you want to do the bush walks, there isn't all that much here). If you are in the area it is definitely worth stopping for, especially since there is no fee - what do you have to lose.

There isn't a lot to do at Huka falls, but its definately worth a stop for photos! So so so pretty! And the amount of water that passes you is unbelievable!

Beautiful Natural Attraction. Well sign posted and accessible paths. 20c donation to use toilet facilities to cover costs of upkeep.

100 m wide Waikato River suddenly narrows to 20 m gorge; violent, tourquoise waters passing through narrow passage make quite the impression, you can either go there by car or make a walk from Taupo
