“Wairakei Thermal Resort is an oasis of calm”
Reviewed January 22, 2014

Friendly service, reasonably priced delicious food, and a flock of tame birds who entertained us made our visit a lovely relaxing time.

“Could be hotter”
Reviewed January 19, 2014

We were disappointed. There was a lot of walking and not really that much to see. The walkway surrounding was also very overgrown. I would go back but probably only to the café playground and to visit the farm animals they keep there.

“Fantastic Service!”
Reviewed January 7, 2014

We wanted to check out some thermal activity in Taupo but didn't want to pay for the other (more expensive) places. The guy working on the counter was so friendly and chatty and gave us all the info about the walk. The walk was nice and the area was really peaceful (hot though!). Afterwards we had some afternoon tea in the cafe and again the young guy working there was super friendly!

“Very impressive”

Impressive thermal valley, Learn new things from the nature.
Long walk or short walk trek to choose. Need to go on the fine day as no roof protection if it s rain.

“Great value”
Reviewed January 1, 2014

We arrived to be greeted by lots of chickens, peacocks, and a kuni kuni pig. We paid our $10 each and set off on our walk around the thermal valley. Some great sights along the way. This is well worth the admission fee.
