My partner and I had a fantastic time at Huka Prawn Park! We visited on a weekday which worked well as they weren't to busy, I can imagine this place gets really busy in school holidays and over summer. We did the full tour through the Hatchery's, even got to hand feed some prawns! The guide we had was very informative and friendly. We then had a quick fishing lesson and then we got let lose on the rods! (rods and bait ar provided)The park has plenty of space and its really well laid out with nice jetty's to sit and fish from and even comfy arm chairs. In the first 20 minutes we had some beginners luck and caught 2 decent size prawns then the next couple of hours were lots of bite but not much action. We left the day with 3 but was very fun and well worth a visit and entry fee. A few tips I would like to suggest are Make a day of it, there is heaps to do here, especially for kids. The restaurant closes quite early around 4pm so pays to do a lunch, we didn't eat there but wow the food looked and smelt great

Our kids loved the prawn fishing. We were there for over 2 hours and quite frankly could've stayed longer. Fantastic fun and very reasonably priced considering how long you stay. Also, you can get a stamp and come and go all day.

We did the self tour of the Prawn Park and Prawn fishing. it is a great activity for the family, although we only catch 2 prawns, but it is great fun. The food in the restaurant is also very good.

We went to visit with family. Staff didn't know the price of the tour only (without fishing ) and seemed not to care less.Could be so much more esp for younger families not wanting to spend $$$. Had a meal instead and staff in there very friendly and welcoming although portions very small and lots of deep fried choices

Called in on a whim because who knew you can fish for prawns?! Entrance fees are a little pricey, but kids under 5 are free and you can get a pretty decent family pass if you've got older kids. We started our visit with the included tour which takes you around the breeding pools etc and shows you how the system works. Kids loved watching the prawns and we found it pretty interesting. Our tour guide was great, really friendly, good with the kids and knew what he was talking about. The fishing itself was fun, and everything from rods to bait are provided for you, along with a little lesson during the tour. Our boys (both under 5) found it hard to sit still for long, so we moved on after our first catch to the other attractions. As well as a standard playground, there's also trout feeding, a small confidence course and a host of interactive-type water exhibits that the kids loved playing with, and to be honest so did we!
