This is without doubt the best fish n chip place in Taranaki. Frienly helpful staff and owner who knows everything aboug gish and how they cook it. Not fine dining but excellent seafood

This is my go-to place for the best seafood dinners in New Plymouth - especially the flounder and the whitebait fritters. The meals are generous in size and the chefs know how to get the most out of their fresh ingredients, and the prices are reasonable. There is heaps of on-street parking nearby. If you're driving to Marinovich's be aware that it's on a short one-way street - get to it from Egmont Street, going down King Street and right onto Brougham Street. If you're walking, Marinovich's is opposite Puke Ariki's library wing.

We had grilled, beer battered fish and chips and oysters. Very friendly staff who seemed to be owners since they were very spontaneous suggesting two different type of fish so that we could try them (since each serving has 2 pieces). So different from the self-conscious waitress at Gusto.
In our 7 day stay and 5 meals of fish and chips at various places, this is by far the best.
Kudos!
