“First Night for New Menu”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 28, 2014

We visited your Restaurant for an evening meal Saturday 7th June. This was the first night of your new menu. The restaurant was clean and tidy, out fire and heaters going keeping the atmosphere cosy. Their was couple to ladies entertaining dinners that night as well.
I had your steak meal rare and this was fantastic, so tender and cooked perfectly. Plenty of vegetables to compliment this dish. Presentation magic. My wife ordered the Pork Belly, this was also was delivered with a wonderful presentation. The down side of this dish was the lack of
vegetables like my steak meal. The Pork Belly was also quite fatty. The gentleman waiter
advised this had been replaced a Pork Chop dish.

The female waitress we were served by was only her second night, she was most charming
and all our questions were answered, she took the time to ask another staff member for questions she did not have the answers to. Our wine order was completed with advise from
Indian gentleman, the wine complemented our meal well. we were advised when our meal
was being prepared.

We will be back, there is no question in that. Keep up the good work.

“Curree”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 23, 2014

Before we wnet we had a look at Tripadvisor and since they were new and had a good ranking, we decided to go fr dinner. It was a disappointment. Soup was ok. The dips I cannot recommend. Bread was stale, dips were of poor taste and quality. I ordered a chicken breast with mushrooms and the chicken was so over cooked that it would bounce from the floor if I had dropped it. My wife had the gnocchi in cream sauce and later that night she was still trying to digest this fatty stuff. Service? Yes, but you have to repeat yourself many times because there is a language problem

“Most pleasant evening.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 16, 2014

I cannot fault my evening. The food was great. The service was great. The atmosphere was great. I loved the open fire. The size of the seafood sampler was a full meal in itself and I will be ordering this again.

I drove down from Auckland, where I am used to a variety of restaurants, and this place is better than most of the restaurants I've been to.

Being at the bottom of the mountain on a cold winter night, it does pay to dress up warm, but inside your heart will melt.

“Great Lunch”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 10, 2014

Decided to have lunch to celebrate my birthday so my wife chose Cow Ree to do the honours. It appears she and her girlfriends often go there for lunch so she knew it was a safe bet food wise. I was not disappointed - The food was very good at a reasonable price and there was plenty of it. The service was friendly and quick. Would I go there again - Yes

“Enjoyed the atmosphere and the food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 4, 2014

After hiking up to the snow line of Mt Taranaki, we were looking forward to a nice cup of coffee and stumbled on to this cafe/restaurant. We were greeted by friendly service and because we liked what we saw on the menu, stayed for dinner and weren't disappointed. Both the lamb rack and the chicken dish were scrumptuous, washed down by a perfectly brewed coffee. We'll definitely be back!
