This little zoo has well cared for animals and is clean and well looked after. Lots for kids to do and places for parents to relax. I liked the whole feeling there

“Its free so can't really complain”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 31, 2013 via mobile

Brooklands zoo is just at the other side of Pukekura Park and is a small free "zoo". It has a playground in it and definitely more suited to those bringing their little ones. It has a farm yard (we didn't go in), some llamas out, a free flight aviary, meerkat (didn't see any out), cotton top tamarin and some monkeys. That's about it really. Again, it is free so can't complain. I am sure kids love it though but if you are an adult it is not a proper zoo as such.

“We're all going to the zoo tomorrow....”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2013

This little zoo is an excellent place for a child's birthday party as it has a large grass area in the centre with a children's playground. Young children can't get lost as the gate locks behind you and everything is built around the central grassy area. The animals are a delightful bonus and best of all entry is free!

“Well worth a visit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 3, 2013

This little park and zoo next to Pukekura Park is well worth a visit. There are otters, meerkats, Bolivian squirrel monkeys, capuchin monkeys and cotton-top tamarins, as well as a range of colourful birds in the free-flight aviary. The farmyard area also allows close-encounters with a range of friendly animals. Although clearly built with little children in mind, this is a great place for young and old. All of the animals seemed healthy and happy, with good enclosures (arguably a selection of animals quite well-suited to captive living). Although free entry, we were more than happy to donate to this great little zoo.
