My most recent visit was a huge disappointment so wasn't surprised to learn it had changed hands since I was last in New Plymouth. For a start, the menu we were given at 1pm Sunday afternoon was not what most people would call a lunch menu. I settled for the two crepes which, as far as I could tell, were the only option I wouldn't consider a 'main.' The crepes had obviously been filled and put into an oven to re-heat. An inch either end were charred and crisped to the point of being inedible. The salad was tasty but really small and topped with some sort of snack food like hard noodles which, as far as I can recall, were not mentioned on the menu. At $20 I felt ripped off. With the amount of food I left on the plate I would have thought an enquiry could have been made. The service was great, the view superb and the wine very drinkable but the experience spoilt by having to return home for a top-up lunch.

A wonderful view and great food served by excellent people. The pasta dishes were great value with more than enough seafood and the wine recommendations were spot on.

On Sunday we celebrated a 60th Birthday with a lunch for 18 family and friends. We had an enjoyable time, the food was delicious, the service was excellent. Hats off to Daniel and your staff, your attention to detail was fantanstic. The setting is wonderful, catering for all ages, and the children with our party especilally enjoyed the outdoor playground. We will definitely return. Thank you.

We went to Okururu Vineyard for a family dinner. We spent most of the evening on the gorgeous balcony overlooking the sunset over the vines, rolling hills, the Sugarloaf Islands and the ocean. It was just stunning. The food and wine were delicious, very rich. We had entrees and mains and definitely couldn't fit dessert. It is pricy, but for large servings and great flavours. The service was exceptional. However the interior decor was very offputting, after much discussion we decided it reminded us of a 90s motel. Needs an upgrade!

we had a party of 3 and spent a very nice wednesday night at Okurukuru, it was reasonably busy for a wednesday but the service was very good, and views and sunset just magic.
This place looks very expensive but it is very reasonable with mains under $30.00 , we had a platter to share , very nice followed by fish and chips and a curry, and a steak , we could not fault any of it , and wine was reasonable for a Clearview chardonay.
If you are thinking it is another overpriced restaurant think again , give it a go we will be back
