My most recent visit was a huge disappointment so wasn't surprised to learn it had changed hands since I was last in New Plymouth. For a start, the menu we were given at 1pm Sunday afternoon was not what most people would call a lunch menu. I settled for the two crepes which, as far as I could tell, were the only option I wouldn't consider a 'main.' The crepes had obviously been filled and put into an oven to re-heat. An inch either end were charred and crisped to the point of being inedible. The salad was tasty but really small and topped with some sort of snack food like hard noodles which, as far as I can recall, were not mentioned on the menu. At $20 I felt ripped off. With the amount of food I left on the plate I would have thought an enquiry could have been made. The service was great, the view superb and the wine very drinkable but the experience spoilt by having to return home for a top-up lunch.
